The rules for using ZimRoadWise

What this app is

ZimRoadWise is a free self-study platform for Zimbabwean road rules and driving theory. It is not a driving school, it does not provide lessons with an instructor, and it does not book, arrange or influence any test.

It is independent and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Vehicle Inspectorate Department, the Zimbabwe Republic Police or any government body.

No guarantee of a pass

Studying here does not guarantee that you will pass the provisional (learner's) test, the oral test or the practical test. Marks, pass marks and test procedures are decided entirely by the examining authority.

Study material is prepared with care from Zimbabwean Highway Code material, but it may contain errors, may be out of date, and is not a legal document. Where the law and this app disagree, the law applies. Never rely on this app alone for a decision on the road.

How you may use it

You may use the app freely for your own learning, and you may study with friends or family on their own devices.

You may not resell the content, republish it as your own, present it as official material, scrape it in bulk, or use it in a way that interferes with the service for other learners.

Lesson text, questions, diagrams and page design remain the property of the app owner. Official road-sign artwork and Highway Code wording remain the property of their original owners and are used here for education.

Your data and your device

There is no account and no sign-up. Your study progress is written to your own device, so it can be lost if you clear your browser data or switch device. Keeping a backup is your responsibility — you can download one from Settings.

Anonymous study counts are used to improve the lessons. The details are set out on the privacy page.

Other people's services

The driving-school directory shows listings from third parties, including details supplied by Google. Prices, phone numbers, availability and quality are the responsibility of that school, not of this app. Check details directly with them before paying anything.

The WhatsApp study bot runs on WhatsApp, so WhatsApp's own terms and your network charges apply to those messages.

Availability and liability

The app is offered as it is. It may be offline for maintenance, content may change, and features may be added or removed without notice.

To the extent the law allows, the app owner is not liable for loss, damage, injury, a failed test, or costs arising from your use of the app or from anything you did on the road.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the app changes. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the version shown on this page.
